This past weekend (Feb 1 & 2, 2025), SPBC put on its first field trial since 2012. The committee was comprised of members with varying field trial experience, but we all wanted to put on a quality walking trial. Prior to this event, there has been only one all-breed AKC field trial per year in North Carolina. The interest in our event was high – we had a long waiting list, which shows the desire for walking trials in this area.

The event was really successful! We were able to hold it on the beautiful grounds of Oak Hill Farm in Oxford, NC. We had great weather, great camaraderie, and lots of spectators.

Members of the committee included: Rollie Barrett, Janie Bristow, TerryAnn Fernando, Del Hollingsworth, Ed Jesson, Maggie Maier, BJ Parsons, Cindi Saylor, Ariel Wolf and we would not have been able to pull it off had it not been for Ozzie Osborne, Steve Welch and Helen Sanderford stepping up in major support.
