Description

Teach Your Pointing Dog to Honor Seminar

Learn how to start the process of teaching your dog to honor his/her bracemates in the field.

Are you looking to run AKC Senior or Master hunting tests or field trials? Or be able to hunt your dog with other dogs and have them respect the others? This seminar is intended for people who are looking to teach their dogs to honor. We will discuss the process of teaching your dog to honor and work multiple dogs through the beginning of this process. Working spots with dogs as well as auditing spots without dogs are available.

Saturday, October 5, 2024
8:30 am to 3:30pm
Sandhills Pointing Breeds Club, 3280 Jackson Springs Rd, Jackson Springs, NC 27281

Prerequisites

Working spots: One person with one dog. Dogs should be steady to flush. If a pigeon is released from an electronic launcher or a bird wild flushes, the dog should stop automatically without a command. Dogs don’t need any experience hunting with bracemates. We would prefer dogs that have not had previous honoring training.

Auditing spots: One person without a dog. No prerequisites.

Registration is capped at 5 working spots and 15 auditing spots. First come, first served. Once the working spots are filled, additional people interested in working spots will be placed on a waitlist. We hope you can join us!

All proceeds will go to the Sandhills Quail Habitat Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 that was formed to purchase the 100-acre property where the Sandhills Pointing Breeds Club trains.
