Perimeter Trail

June 12, 2019

For all those members who like to run their dogs in the summer, but can’t manage to get to the club by dawn, when the temperature is lower, Tim Key, Doug Varnum, and I have completed the Perimeter Trail. The trail circumlocutes Fields #3 and #4 in the shade, where it is noticeably cooler. You can get on the trail by turning left after crossing the railroad tie bridge north of the pigeon coop. The trail is marked with yellow surveyors tape. The trail ends at the road that connects Fields #3 and #5. The scenery on the north side of Fields #3 and #4 is more dramatic; the elevation changes quickly so there are more falls and pools and the hardwoods are bigger so the understory is open. Please move dead, fallen branches to the side as you walk along; trails can get cluttered quickly without frequent user maintenance. Regards, Charles ___________________________ Charles W.
